Third Party Testing
I don’t recommend buying SARMs from a company that doesn't pay for third party testing. Period.
As mentioned already, third party testing is what is going to separate the men from the boys when it comes to SARMs companies.
Simply put, I am not going to compromise my research by risking it with some random company that has nothing that can prove their purity, or consistency of purity.
I need concrete proof that a company's products are accurately dosed, and that they have the most stringent quality control procedures in the industry.
There are a lot of research chemical companies nowadays, and one thing I find crazy is how many sell blatantly illegal substances.
Personally, I think all drugs should be legal, but the fact remains that they aren't, so there are some key things I look for when I am assessing a SARMs company's legal compliance and risk profile.
If a company sells SARMs, but then they also sell a myriad of Rx only/scheduled compounds, it is a bit sketchy and it is likely not a company I want to be trusting my money with when there is an impending ban on SARMs.
To be frank, from a legal standpoint, SARMs have yet to be scheduled (in my country at least, you should double check where you live if they are legal before you buy SARMs from anyone), so if there is a company that is commingling their legal products with illegal products and selling everything they can get away with, it's probably not a good sign for their longevity, and likely not a good sign for their quality control procedures.
No Hyped Up Marketing
I don’t recommend buying from companies that go out of their way to market SARMs as legal steroids with no side effects for extreme bodybuilding purposes, or as dietary supplements in general.
The more a company markets SARMs as hardcore bodybuilding compounds with aggressively hyped up expectations, the worse the SARMs usually are.
Not only is the product usually of lower quality with these companies, this sort of behavior is also what gives people the wrong idea about SARMs and only increases the chances of them being made illegal (which is probably inevitable at this point already).
To be clear, these are not dietary supplements, so if a company is labeling them that way, they've already blown it in my books, and the aggressive marketing is just icing on the cake.
Don’t be seduced by this aggressive, misguided marketing, and don’t support it.
The Different SARMs for Sale
As you should know, different SARMs possess different properties than one another, despite all operating via a very similar mechanism of action.
They are all intended to be non-steroidal and exert tissue-selective anabolic effects in muscle and bone, while sparing other androgenic effects that come from anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS).
To make things easier for you, I’ve made a table to show you each of the most well known and researched SARMs, and broken them up into varying levels of endocrine suppression, as well as separated the compounds that are not SARMs at all, but are commonly lumped into the SARM category.
The ones that are less suppressive seem to be the most promising in research for their intended purposes.

Mildly Suppressive SARMs:
Ostarine is the most well known SARM, and it is also the most research backed. This selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) has been studied and proven to improve lean body mass and physical function. It also increases tendon strength, ligament health, bone density and encourages collagen turn-over. It is one of the least suppressive and minimally androgenic, making it a prime candidate for therapeutic purposes moving forward, and assisting in muscle retention/growth without the ramifications of severe androgen related side effects. Reports of 5-10 pounds of lean muscle gain from Ostarine are quite common.
S4 is another orally bioavailable SARM that can result in substantial increases of strength, lean muscle mass, and fat loss. It is non-steroidal and has tissue-selective anabolic effects in muscle and bone, while sparing other androgenic effects that come from anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS). S4 doesn’t bloat as it doesn’t convert to estrogen or progesterone, and the size it produces is very dry. It is the only SARM aside from S23 that can mimic the dry, grainy, hardening effects formidable to that of pure DHT, without exerting any of the negative side effects associated with DHT like hair loss, prostate growth, acne, virilization in women, etc. Night vision issues are commonly reported as a side effect from users, which appears to correct itself shortly after the discontinuation of Andarine administration. S4 has a tendency to cause a temporary yellow and green tint to be noticed in sight, and more significant issues adjusting from light to dark settings.
ACP-105 is another non-steroidal Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM). Acadia (the company that produced this SARM) proposes that ACP-105 is as potent as Testosterone in in vitro assays without interaction at other hormone receptors. In addition, ACP-105 demonstrates potent anabolic effects on muscle and bone with minimal effect on prostate in preclinical models (hence it being a genuine SARM). While the research (albeit limited) is promising, there are no clinical studies on human subjects; consequently any conclusions or theories we develop around the compound have to be taken with a grain of salt. 1 mg/kg per day was given to the research subjects, and that resulted in a very blatant anabolic effect. The extent of this anabolic effect is measured in what % of hypertrophy occurs relative to the baseline that DHT would otherwise achieve had the research subject not undergone ORX-induced atrophy. The % of anabolic activity was determined to be 67%, with only 21% reversal of the prostate gland (which is used to measure androgenic activity). From this we can conclude that this SARM has an anabolic:androgenic rating/ratio of 3.19:1
This SARM seems relatively weak from the data we have gathered, but the main appeal of it is that there should be significantly less suppression than many of the more mainstream SARMs, and supposedly this SARM is still undetectable, so any drug-tested athlete would hypothetically be able to get a sizeable edge from AC-262536. AC-262536 exerted up to 66% of the anabolic benefits of Testosterone, while simultaneously only exerting 27% as much Androgenic activity. From this we can conclude that AC-262536 has an anabolic:androgenic rating/ratio of 2.45:1
Very Suppressive SARMs:
LGD-4033 is often touted as the most effective SARM for overall anabolism, muscle retention, and muscular hypertrophy. It is very potent, and reports of 10+ pounds of lean muscle gain are commonly reported from users. LGD-4033 is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) developed to prevent muscle wasting, osteoporosis and a variety of other musculoskeletal degenerative diseases. It is non-steroidal, and is ingested orally. It binds to the androgen receptor with an extremely high affinity and selectivity, and once it does this it exerts exceptional anabolic effects in muscle and bone. Comparing LGD-4033 to Ostarine head to head, LGD-4033 exhibits greater levels of anabolic activity at a lower dosage, but is far more suppressive than Ostarine.
LGD-3303 is a full agonist on muscle and a partial agonist on the prostate. At the 1 mg/kg/day dosage (the dosage roughly equivalent to the standard starting daily dosage for research in humans) the effect on prostate weight (proposed androgenic activity) was minimal relative to what baseline prostate weight was when the research subject wasn’t using LGD-3303 at all. With this statistic, it can be assumed that the androgenic effects in the body are minimal at the effective dosage for muscle building purposes, thus making it a very promising SARM. Reports among those who have experimented with both LGD-4033 and LGD-3303 commonly note that there seems to be less water retention associated with LGD-3303, but mg:mg LGD-4033 still seems to be the more effective SARM.
RAD140 was designed to act as a complete replacement for Testosterone, without any of the negative androgenic side effects. RAD140 has an anabolic:androgenic rating of 90:1 and partially antagonizes the negative effects of testosterone on the prostate. Initial steroid research sought to synthesize a compound with a high level anabolic activity, coupled with a low level of androgenic activity. Testosterone has an anabolic:androgenic rating of 100:100. Meaning that RAD140 is almost as anabolic as Testosterone, with 1/100th the Androgenic activity (on paper at least). RAD140 has all the hallmarks of a SARM. It is potency selective, since it stimulates muscle weight increases at a lower dose than that required to stimulate prostate weight increases. RAD140 is a very versatile and promising SARM that purportedly provides a complete replacement for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), without any of the side effects. The overall preclinical profile of RAD140 is very good, and the compound has completed preclinical toxicology in both rats and monkeys. Notably increased aggression and agitation is commonly reported among users.
S23 is the strongest SARM to date, often being compared to S4 in terms of its' anabolic and muscle hardening effects, without the binding to the ocular receptors issue. It is purported to be a stronger version of S4 without the night vision side effect, but with a greater amount of suppression. S23 is the most suppressive SARM of all, with a 50% drop in Luteinizing hormone (LH) occurring after only 14 days of research.
YK11 is not actually a SARM, despite commonly being lumped into the SARM category. YK11 is a Myostatin inhibitor. YK11 works by attaching itself to the androgen receptor, and stimulating the muscle cells to produce more Follistatin, consequently inhibiting Myostatin in the body. Myostatin acts as a regulator of skeletal muscle mass, limiting how much muscle the body can grow, and inhibiting Myostatin ultimately results in more overall muscle growth. YK11 appears to have minor liver toxicity, and its' chemical structure differs greatly from that of traditional SARMs as it resembles the chemical structure of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) very closely.
Other (Not Suppressive/Not SARMs):
MK-677 is a potent GH secretagogue taken orally. A GH secretagogue is a substance that signals the pituitary gland in the body to secrete more growth hormone. Much like SARMs, it is non-steroidal. MK-677 is not a SARM in any capacity, despite commonly getting lumped into that category. MK-677 will not cause any natural Testosterone suppression. After ingestion, MK-677 greatly increases the release of Growth Hormone (GH) and Insulin-Life Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) for the next 24 hours via strong GH pulsations in the pituitary gland. MK-677 does not stimulate a greater quantity of secretion events per day (number of GH pulsations), but rather it stimulates a greater total 24 hour GH production rate. Ibutamoren can substantially increase the strength of each GH pulsation that occurs in the body. Clinical trials are currently being conducted to assess how well MK-677 can address growth hormone deficiencies, muscle wasting diseases, osteoporosis and a myriad of other related conditions. So far MK-677 has proven to be exceptional in all of these studies, resulting in overall increases in bone mineral density and lean muscle mass in humans. MK-677 also improves fat burning, thus making it a potentially viable option in the future for the treatment of obesity. The overall safety and efficacy profile of MK-677 is promising, with no serious adverse events reported in any of the clinical trials conducted on humans. The data supports that it has the potential to be a very safe compound viable for long-term use.
Cardarine is a PPARδ receptor agonist that binds to and activates the peroxisome proliferator activator receptor delta. Activation of PPARδ can increase overall energy, fat burning potential, muscle building potential, cardiovascular endurance, insulin sensitivity, and improve lipid levels in the blood. Prior to its abandonment in 2007 Cardarine was being studied to assess its potential therapeutic applications in a clinical setting for treating metabolic diseases and cardiovascular diseases. Of the myriad of specific health benefits noted in the clinical trials conducted on Cardarine, the most notable are its ability to lower “bad” cholesterol levels (LDL levels), increase “good” cholesterol levels (HDL levels), combat obesity, improve cardiovascular health markers, and potentially even help prevent diabetes. The data supporting its efficacy in all of those areas is strong. Anecdotal reports commonly note greatly improved cholesterol levels, and remarkably improved cardiovascular endurance.
SR9009 is a synthetic Rev-ErbA ligand that works by increasing the mitochondria count in the muscles, decreasing fat storage, increasing glucose and fatty acid use in muscle, improving cholesterol levels, decreasing the generation of new fat cells, and increasing oxygen consumption.
