My Top 10 Most Complimented Colognes/Fragrances

Most of my subscribers don’t know this but I’m kind of a fragrance fanatic.

Some people collect baseball cards, some people collect rare video games, me, I collect colognes and fragrances.

Well, only good ones.

There is no better way to instantly boost your attractiveness to women than to smell damn amazing.

While many guys think that how they smell is a small and insignificant detail, think about it this way.

You’re in bed with a 10/10 girl and you go in to kiss her and you get a giant whiff of body odor.

As opposed to: You’re in bed with a 10/10 girl and you go in to kiss her and you get a gentle whiff of a gorgeous floral blend of vanilla, caramel, and other intoxicating feminine smells that make you go crazy.

Ya. The second scenario is far more appealing.

Obviously that is an extreme polar opposite example, but I know you have all noticed that a girl who smells fantastic will always stand out to you, and if she’s attractive it will just make her have an even greater edge.

The EXACT same applies to men for women. Perhaps even more so.

Women aren’t as visually driven as men are. By this I mean if we see a tight toned body girl with a nice face we are ready to go and there is nothing more that needs to be done for us to determine we would sleep with them.

For women though, there are more intimate details that don’t apply as strictly to men.

They are much more in tuned with their senses and when a guy smells fantastic, you better believe that it will be a huge turn on for a woman, and she will likely even remember you for that specific scent in the future.

TIP #1: Next time you’re sleeping over at a girl’s house, spray her pillow with a couple spritzes of your cologne before you leave. This will have her remembering you and thinking about you every time she is near her bed even when you aren’t there.

I used to not think having a solid fragrance for dates was that important, until I was bought a bottle of Armani Code in 2011 for a Christmas present. I started using it simply because I had it, not because I thought it would make a difference.

Holy hell was I ever wrong.

The compliments I would get on dates and out with women in general went through the roof!

Smelling great almost becomes like a topic of conversation for women who don’t even know you to feel comfortable engaging you as well.

It isn’t uncommon for a girl who doesn’t even know to get a whiff of your cologne and then turn to you and say, “you smell amazing/great/sexy/phenomenal/whatever” and then an entire conversation can start up between you two just based on that.

It is really quite incredible.

And with girls who already know you…. Forget about it.

Smelling great is SOOOOOO KEY!

After this, I became a fragrance junkie.

I actually found it fun to go on the basenotes forum (huge fragrance online discussion forum) and fragrantica and look up reviews, talk about up and coming releases, and shoot the shit in general. Kind of a waste of time, but it was like a hobby for me.

There are definitely some fragrances that are more mass appealing and cater to a larger variety of social settings, and these are more appropriate for individuals who don’t want to own more than 1 or 2 colognes.

However, I became obsessed with getting the BEST fragrance for each possible scenario I was in.

Whether I was in a hot climate during the day time, whether I was out for a night on the town, whether I was working my bouncer gig in my dress clothes at the club, whether I was on a date, whatever situation arose, I wanted to have the best possible fragrance for the scenario.

While this is pretty overkill for most, luckily many of the fragrances that made it into my list are not only great for particular situations, but many overlap into other categories and are just fantastic overall fragrances.

I’m not necessarily an expert when it comes to identifying all the top notes, middle notes, base notes, in different fragrances like most of the fragrance junkies love to analyze.

But what I did care about (and what mattered for the most part) was which fragrance lasted a long time once applied, how far did the scent project away from my body after applying it, and what were women’s reactions and opinions on the scents themselves.

After about 5 years of dating a significant amount of women, I have narrowed down my top 10 most complimented fragrances.

This list isn’t based on the opinions of just a few women; it is based on all compliments I have received over the span of my entire dating life while wearing fragrances (I have never gone on a date without a fragrance on for the past 5 years, so yes it’s a large sample group).

The list will start at #10, being the 10^th most complimented fragrance I’ve ever worn, moving all the way down the list until we reach my number 1 most complimented fragrance of all time.

So without further adieu, let’s begin:

This cologne is a love or hate fragrance.

With the majority loving it though being the key.

It is VERY strong, with an insane level of longevity and projection.

It screams masculinity and definitely isn’t a fragrance for your average teeny bopper kid in high school looking for his first cologne.

It is almost like a peppery version of La Nuit De L’homme, with a bit more edge and masculinity.

One of the main pros of this fragrance is not only that it is strong and lasts a long time, but it is also very cheap.

The best situation for this fragrance would be in the Winter months outdoors.

It cuts through the harsh cold amazingly, and is strong enough that even when you’re going for a walk with your girl through the snow she can still get intermittent whiffs of it.

Typically, I only wore this when I was bouncing at night time in the Winter and had to stand outside the club manning the ropes at the front and ID’ing people, or when I would go on outdoor dates.

It can be worn indoors as well, but be weary of how much you spray yourself with it if indoors. It can be slightly cloying if over applied.

I’d say it is probably the most “manly” fragrance on this list.

This is another cheap cologne that is worth far more than it costs.

If you have ever smelled Acqua Di Gio it is easiest to sum up 360 Red as an Acqua Di Gio clone, except it performs better, lasts longer, and costs less than half the price.

This fragrance is fantastic for everyday use, for the office, for dates, for going to the grocery store, for anything really.

It is very versatile, and it works well in all seasons as well. I have gone through about four 200ml bottles of this stuff in the past 4 years. That is how damn good it is.

This beast is the reincarnation of the old school Armani Code Original.

Armani Code Original is the first cologne I ever owned, and I still remember how much my dating life changed once I started wearing it out on dates.

Compliment city!

I had never been complimented on my scent before (because I never smelled like anything), so obviously it was all a very new thing to me.

I still vividly remember one of the first truly gorgeous girls I ever slept with texting me later in the day after I left her house telling me how her bed still smelled like me and she couldn’t get me out of her head.

Mission accomplished.

I think the best compliment I ever got with this cologne was when a girl literally grabbed me and shoved her nose into my chest and said: “You smell like God!”

Needless to say, I have always had a place in my heart (and on my shelf) for this fragrance after that crazy year where this scent was my go to.

Armani Code Profumo is the newest rendition of the original Armani Code, and it is even stronger than the original.

Perhaps almost too strong depending on how your skin holds onto scents.

You can easily expect 10 hours plus of strong projection from this stuff, and over applying it is definitely not recommended.

The Profumo version definitely still smells like the original, but they changed the DNA around and added another few notes that are very sweet and almost edible smelling.

Personally, I liked the original scent a bit better, but I have been rolling with Profumo lately and it still seems to be doing the job, and I only have to spray half as much because it performs so well longevity wise.

The best club fragrance you may have never heard of.

This stuff is very potent smelling and the best way to describe it is it is one of the best club fragrances you can possibly wear (if that makes any sense, it probably doesn’t).

It cuts through the crowd nicely, it is very sexy, women love it, and it oozes of one night stand alpha male.

I don’t know how else to explain this one. I always have this on hand for a party, a clubbing night out, or a late night date on the town.

This is arguably the best cheap fragrance ever created.

It is very affordable, with 100 ml only costing around $14.

I ALWAYS have a bottle of this in my collection, and if I’m running out I will order another one without question.

It is a perfect scent for summer time, or the daytime in general.

It has mass appeal with women and it is a very, very safe choice.

I have yet to encounter one single person who doesn’t like this fragrance a lot.

The performance is good, it is versatile as hell, it is insanely cheap, and all women love it.

You can’t go wrong with Nautica Voyage.

I’m sure a lot of you guys have seen the commercials for this stuff in the past year with Johnny Depp endorsing this stuff.

Honestly, I don’t particularly like the smell of this fragrance personally, but for whatever reason Women GO APE SHIT OVER IT!

I’m not exaggerating.

This is one of those fragrances that smells incredibly mainstream and synthetic, but women seem to universally just drool over it.

It is a great everyday scent and can be worn in mostly any situation.

The projection and longevity are very strong with this stuff as well so you can expect that a bottle will last you a while. Only a few spritzes are needed.

If this list was based on MY top 10 rated fragrances, this one wouldn’t even make it onto it, but obviously I wear what appeals to women, not men, so even if I think a fragrance smells like 10 pounds of horse shit, if 99% of women think it smells like an intoxicating aphrodisiac, then I’d wear it anyways.

Now, this stuff certainly doesn’t smell like shit, but I think it’s pretty synthetic like I said, so if you are looking for something that will help you with the ladies this would be a GREAT option, but if you are looking for a fragrance that you like the smell of yourself, you may not be the biggest fan of Dior Sauvage.

This is probably the most pleasant smelling male fragrance I’ve ever smelled in my entire life.

It is almost unisex smelling it is so pleasant, but it has just enough masculinity to be obviously a men’s fragrance.

It is a softer scent, playful and just makes you happy when you smell it.

It has the same effect when women smell it on you, and it is the ultimate fragrance choice for having a girl over to your place in the day time, or sleeping over and cooking breakfast in the morning and lounging around the house, or going to meet your girlfriend’s family.

Basically, any situation where you need something safe that just smells great, this is a very solid choice.

It doesn’t smell favoured to any particular season or weather conditions either which makes it perfect for any time of the year.

It is my go to “close encounters” day time indoor fragrance at all times of the year (yes I overanalyze the shit out of fragrances for specific situations, but if you own a butt ton of them then you tend to do that).

This is bar none the SEXIEST men's fragrance I have ever smelled in my life.

It literally somehow just smells like the sexiest male scent possible.

There aren’t many words that can describe this stuff except that it is an AMAZING date scent, it is versatile and can be worn year round, although it is favoured towards the Fall and Winter months, and it is literally just straight up sex in a bottle.

The only downside of this fragrance which is why it is only number 3 on my list is that its’ projection and longevity aren’t very good.

It needs several re-applications throughout the day to make it last well, and it doesn’t project very far either. It becomes a skin scent rather quickly which means that you literally have to be a an inch or less from the spot sprayed to smell it once it fades into a skin scent.

If they could reformulate this to be more powerful, I have no doubt that this would be my #1.

However, it is still so ridiculously sexy and has gotten me so much positive feedback that despite it being weak in the performance category, it still claims the #3 spot.

There are too many good things to say about this fragrance I won’t even attempt to.

It is incredibly sexy, it smells masculine, it is versatile in that it can be worn everyday, but it also excels in an amazing way on a date.

It is definitely one of my go to date scents, and it never fails to get plenty of amazing compliments and reactions.

It’s not super strong, but it’s strong enough.

This works in your favour on dates anyways as you will probably be up close and personal with a woman and don’t want to have an overpowering fragrance on.

The only difference between this one and my #1 is how soft they are.

CH Men Prive is more masculine, while La Nuit De L’homme could be identified as a tad softer/metrosexual.

Personally, I like the more masculine vibe as it works with my personality and style better, however, there is no denying which I got more compliments with.

CH Men Original and CH Men Prive remain my favourite date scents right now personally, but they are my #2 most complimented.

Heaven in a bottle.

Sexy, sensual, soft but still masculine, it will literally have girls you are with raving about how insanely good you smell.

This is the ultimate date fragrance.

And even if you don’t necessarily think it’s the best, trust me, WOMEN DO.

There are a few other fragrances on my list which I personally like the scent of better, but this fragrance is definitely my number 1 compliment getter, and has gotten my best overall results.

It doesn’t have great performance, but in the close intimate settings it works just fine, and the scent is definitely a panty dropper.

Arguably the God of all fragrances, I will ALWAYS have a bottle of this in my collection.

These bad boys are basically mini cologne bottles and you can fill them up to make inconspicuous travel cologne bottles so when you’re on a date and your fragrance starts to get weak or die out, you can go to the washroom and quickly reapply your fragrance and be fresh wherever you are, whenever you want. I never go on a date without one of these in my pocket.

After 5 years of working through many different fragrances and dating hundreds of women, this is my Top 10 list of most complimented fragrances.
