The Intelligent Microneedling Pen is a handheld device designed for cosmetic microneedling, a procedure that involves using fine needles to create small punctures on the skin's surface.

These needles are much smaller than the ones used in traditional medical procedures.

These needles create micro-channels on the surface of the skin that stimulate a healing response and allow for enhanced topical product absorption.

Intelligent Microneedling Pen vs. Derma Roller:

There are several reasons why someone might choose to use an electric microneedling device over a traditional dermaroller, despite the higher cost:

1. Precision and control: Our microneedling pen has adjustable needle depths and speed settings, allowing for more precise and controlled sessions. This can be beneficial when targeting specific skin concerns or working on sensitive areas

2. Efficiency: Electric microneedling devices can cover a larger surface area more quickly compared to a derma roller, which requires manual rolling over the skin. This can be advantageous for individuals with limited time or those who prefer shorter treatment sessions

3. Cost-effective long term: With exception of those microneedling to acutely improve the appearance of a skin condition, those microneedling for hair loss prevention you will likely be microneedling for a long time to maintain their progress. Over years, it will net out cheaper to have an electric pen that just requires needle cartridge replacements as opposed to buying new full derma roller units every time you need to swap needles.

While derma rollers can still be effective and cost-effective options for some individuals, electric microneedling devices offer additional features and advantages that may make them more appealing to those who value precision, convenience, and advanced functionality.

Ultimately, the choice between the two would depend on individual preferences, budget, and desired outcomes.

The two primary use cases for microneedling are hair regrowth and skin rejuvenation.

Hair Regrowth:

  • Significantly enhances the efficacy/absorption of topical Minoxidil
  • Release of platelet derived growth factor and epidermal growth factors
  • Activation of stem cells in the hair bulge area
  • Overexpression of hair growth related genes vascular endothelial growth factor, B catenin, Wnt3a, and Wnt10 b

Skin Rejuvenation:

  • Reduces the appearance of scars and stretch marks
  • Reduces hyperpigmentation, such as melasma or sunspots
  • Reduce signs of aging (fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, sun damageetc.)
  • Stimulates collagen production

Usage Instructions:

  1. Ensure the treatment area and needle cartridges are clean
  2. Check your cartridge to ensure the needles are in usable condition (i.e. not bending)
  3. Set your desired microneedling depth and speed on the pen
  4. Apply numbing cream (optional): If you have sensitive skin, you may want to apply a numbing cream to the area that you will be microneedling to reduce discomfort
  5. Hold the device at a 90-degree angle to your skin. Apply no pressure and gently slide it across your skin, covering the treatment area vertically, horizontally, and diagonally
  6. Needle the treatment area 4-5 times in each direction
  7. Sterilize the needle cartridges after each use to ensure a safe and hygienic treatment. After each use, rinse the needle cartridge with warm water for 30-60 seconds, and then soak the needle cartridge for 10-15 minutes in 60-90% rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) to thoroughly sanitize it. Rinse it with warm running water afterwards for 30-60 seconds
  8. Store it in a clean, dry place after air drying

Microneedling is generally a well-tolerated, safe procedure.

Contraindications are limited, but include the following:

  1. Active acne, especially inflammatory lesions
  2. Active herpes labialis or other localized infection in the treatment area, including warts
  3. Moderate-to-severe chronic skin diseases such as eczema or psoriasis
  4. Patients with extreme keloidal tendencies
  5. Immunosuppressed patients, including patients on chemotherapy
  6. Care should also be taken in patients near concomitant chemodenervation (botulinum toxin) injection sites to avoid unwanted toxin diffusion

Caution:

  1. For personal use only. Do not share with others
  2. Do not use if you are allergic to metal
  3. Do not apply cosmetics or any type of skin irritants immediately after use
  4. Keep out of the reach of children

Prior to microneedling, we recommend consulting with a skincare professional or dermatologist to determine the appropriate needle length and frequency of use based on your skin type and specific concerns.
